As a passionate travelling photographer, I embarked on an unforgettable remote adventure that took me off the beaten path. I explored some truly wild and rugged areas, from the vast and rugged Gobi Desert to the majestic Altai Mountains. My main goal was to capture stunning images of the elusive Black-billed Capercaillie, the elusive Hodgson’s Bushchat, the striking Oriental Plover, the beautiful Relict Gull, and many other bird species that call these remote areas home.

Indonesia: Java & Bali

As an avid bird enthusiast and dedicated photographer, I saw an incredible opportunity to search for several rapidly declining Sundaic species while they were still relatively easy to spot. This journey was a last-chance to capture stunning images of these unique birds before they become even more elusive. In addition, I had the chance to explore every other Javan endemic from the west to the east. The extension of my trip took me to Aceh province, where I had the chance to seek out some of Sumatra’s most threatened bird species. It was an unforgettable adventure that allowed me to capture stunning images of these rare and magnificent creatures.

From May 26th to June 1st, 2023, I will be embarking on an exciting journey to explore the natural beauty of the world and capture stunning images of its magnificent birds. This adventure is sure to be filled with incredible experiences, and I can’t wait to see what awaits me on this journey.

My travels will take me to the stunning region of Northern Sumatra, where I’ll have the opportunity to explore the breathtaking natural beauty of Aceh province. Borneo: Sarawak & Bulwer’s Pheasant

As a travelling photographer, I embarked on a short tour that promised to be both comfortable and rewarding. This journey allowed me to stay in luxurious accommodations while exploring some of the most beautiful areas of Sarawak. My main focus was to capture stunning images of the elusive and stunning Bulwer’s Pheasant from a new, reliable hide. In addition, I had the chance to leisurely explore a loop of Sarawak, targeting a range of unique bird species, including the striking Blue-banded Pitta, the colorful Bornean Banded Pitta, the beautiful Hose’s Broadbill, the elusive Black Oriole, the mysterious Dulit Frogmouth, the vibrant Crested Jayshrike, and many more. It was an unforgettable experience that allowed me to capture stunning images of some of the world’s most unique and beautiful birds.

Costa Rica: Highlights

As a passionate bird enthusiast and skilled photographer, I embarked on a short tour to one of the most breathtaking birdwatching destinations in all of Central America. This journey promised to be an incredible opportunity to capture stunning images of a wide range of bird species, including a large number of endemics and near-endemics. I was particularly excited to seek out and photograph the stunning Resplendent Quetzal, the vibrant Fiery-throated Hummingbird, the melodic Wrenthrush, the ethereal Snowy Cotinga, and many more. This adventure was sure to be an unforgettable experience that would allow me to showcase the incredible beauty of these magnificent birds to the world.

From August 1st to August 17th, 2023, I will be embarking on an exciting journey to explore and capture stunning images of the world’s birds. Angola

As a dedicated bird enthusiast and skilled photographer, I embarked on a highly-targeted tour to Angola. This journey focused on seeking out and capturing stunning images of all ~20 endemics in the region, as well as many West African specialties, all within a pleasingly short time-frame. The opportunity to explore and photograph these unique and breathtaking bird species was an incredible experience. I was particularly excited to seek out and capture images of the stunning Red-crested Turaco, the vibrant Gabela Helmetshrike, the striking Braun’s Bushshrike, and the elusive Angolan Cave Chat. This adventure was sure to be an unforgettable experience that allowed me to showcase the beauty and diversity of Angola’s birdlife.

Mongolia: Snow Leopard, Pallas’s Cat & Siberian Migrants

As an avid wildlife enthusiast and skilled photographer, I embarked on an incredible adventure to search for the elusive Snow Leopard and rarely seen Pallas’s Cat. The journey took me to comfortable Ger base camps located at relatively low altitudes with warmer temperatures and minimal walking, making it an easier experience compared to other sites in the world. The timing of the journey was also perfect as it coincided with the autumn passerine migration, adding an extra element of excitement to the trip. The opportunity to capture stunning images of these elusive and breathtaking animals in their natural habitat was an unforgettable experience.

What made this journey so special was the abundance of bird feeders, lodges, and easy birding opportunities that allowed me to capture stunning images of these unique and breathtaking birds.
